Meaning
Truck routing needs height/weight/length set

Camera Not Detected
Meaning
BC30/BC40 backup camera lost wireless pairing

ELD Connection Lost
Meaning
Connect IQ ELD app lost auth or Bluetooth to ELD device

Open Connect IQ ELD app → Sign Out → Sign In. Re-pair Bluetooth to ELD hardware (KeepTruckin, Geotab, Samsara).
Truck Route Recalculating
Meaning
Truck-restricted route blocked — height/weight conflict ahead

Normal — Dezl re-routing to avoid restriction. If stuck, verify truck profile dimensions match your actual rig.
How to Update Garmin Dezl — 8 Steps
Cable: USB-A to USB-C (Dezl OTR series) or USB-A to micro-USB (Dezl 580, 780). Garmin Express: Required

Remove Dezl from cab, bring inside
Cradle USB only passes power, not data. Remove unit, bring to PC. Use original Garmin USB cable.
⚠️ Warning: Dont update Dezl on truck battery alone — voltage drop during diesel start interrupts update.

Charge to 100% before updating
Dezl internal battery degrades from cab heat exposure. Below 70% may reboot mid-update. Wall charge 30 min first.

Open Garmin Express on PC, sign in
Express auto-detects Dezl. Sign in with same account that purchased the truck maps — license tied to account ID.

Free up storage if updating maps
Truck map (City Navigator + Truck POIs) is 14-18 GB. Dezl OTR series has 32 GB internal — usually fine. Older Dezl 580/780 has 16 GB — uninstall old map first.

Install firmware FIRST, then maps
Always firmware before maps. Truck POI database depends on firmware version. Map install on old firmware sometimes excludes weigh stations or fuel stops.

Verify truck profile after update
Settings → Truck Profile → confirm height, weight, length, and any specialized settings (hazmat, propane, etc.) didnt reset to defaults.

Re-pair backup camera (BC30/BC40) if applicable
Camera pairings often drop after firmware. Settings → Wireless Cameras → Pair. Power-cycle camera, pair within 30 sec window.

Reinstall on truck, test before driving
Mount, key on, verify GPS lock + ELD app + truck routing. Plan a 1-mile test route to confirm truck-restricted routing works.
