Frequently asked questions
Is Gmail free for seniors?
Yes. Gmail is free for everyone — there is no senior fee, no monthly cost, and no premium version you need to buy. Anyone can use Gmail for free with up to 15 GB of storage.
Is Gmail safe to use?
Yes. Gmail is one of the safest free email services because Google blocks most spam and scam emails before they reach you. Always turn on 2-Step Verification (we explain how in our login guide) for extra protection.
Do I need a smartphone to use Gmail?
No. You can use Gmail on a regular computer, a laptop, a tablet, or any phone with internet. Just type gmail.com into your web browser.
What if I share a computer with my spouse — can we both have Gmail?
Yes. Each person needs their own Gmail account, but you can both use the same computer. Just sign out when you're done, and your spouse signs in with their own account.
Will Gmail charge me money if I run out of storage?
Only if you choose to upgrade. If your 15 GB fills up, Google will email you about buying more storage, but you can also delete old emails to free up space — we have a guide for that.
Can I call someone at Google for help?
No. Google does not offer phone support for free Gmail accounts. If anyone calls you saying they're 'Google Support,' it's a scam — hang up. For real, free phone help with Gmail, call Trini System at 347-953-1531.
